Revelation of Yahushua

Written by S.J. and B.R (age 10)

Mom asked us to write a post to answer the question:  Who is Yahushua?  We opened up to Revelation chapter 1 and the first three words in the book was “Revelation of Yahushua.”  In this post, the two main passages that we will be using is Revelation 1 and John 1.

It is important to know who Yahushua is!  Yahushua wants us to know about Him and to continue to learn more about Him.  He has revealed some things about Himself to us, and we will share some of the things about who Yahushua really is along with some verses.

Yahushua is the Beginning

He is the Aleph and the Taw, the beginning and the end. (Rev.1:8)

In the beginning was the Word.  Yahushua is the word.  (John 1:1)

Yahushua is the Creator.  (John 1:3)

Yahushua was life and the life was the life of men. (John 1:4)

He was the true light.  (John 1:9)

Yahushua was a Man

Yahushua became flesh. (John 1:14)

He is the son of Adam. (Rev. 1:13)

He is the son of Joseph. (John 1:45)

Yahushua was born on Earth as a man.  He was a person just like us. He had a father named Joseph.  He also had a mother named Mary.  Some people call him Jesus in English.  We prefer to call Him Yahushua because that is closer to His Hebrew name which means “salvation.”

Yahushua is the Lamb of Elohim who takes away sin

Yahushua is the Lamb of Elohim. (John 1:29)

He takes away the sin of the world. (John 1:29)

Yahushua loves us and washed us from our sins with His own blood. (Rev. 1:5)

Passover is a special festival in the Bible.  It is a time to remember when YHWH saved His people from the plague of death.  Yahushua is the Lamb of Elohim.  Yahushua died as the Passover Lamb.  When we celebrate Passover now, we remember that Yahushua is the Lamb slain for the sins of the world.

Yahushua died

He was dead. (Rev. 1:18)

He has control over death. (Rev. 1:18)

It is important that Yahushua died.  He died for us even though He is righteous and we are not.

Yahushua lives

Yahushua is the first born from the dead. (Rev. 1:5)

He is the living one. (Rev. 1:18)

He lives forever and ever. (Rev. 1:18)

Yahushua was life and the life was the light of men. (John 1:4)

Yahushua lives!  Now that He has risen from the dead we can live too.  We do not need to worry about dying because He is our Life.

Yahushua is the Torah

Yahushua is the Word.  (John 1:1)

Moses wrote about Yahushua in the Torah. (John 1:45)

Deuteronomy 18:15 “יהוה your Elohim shall raise up for you a Prophet like me from your midst, from your brothers. Listen to Him.”

Moses wrote the first five books of the Bible.  The first five books are often called the Torah.  In the verse above Moses is telling the people to listen to Yahushua.  Yahushua is the Prophet that rose up after Moses several years later.

The prophets wrote about Yahushua. (John 1: 45)

Isaiah 40:10-11 See, the Master יהוה comes with a strong hand, and His arm rules for Him. See, His reward is with Him, and His recompense before Him.  He feeds His flock like a shepherd, He gathers the lambs with His arm, and carries them in His bosom, gently leading those who are with young.

Everybody knows that Yahushua is coming.  He is coming to gather His sheep as a Shepherd gathers His flock.  Yahushua is the Good Shepherd.

John 1:16-17 And out of His completeness we all did receive, and favour upon favour, for the Torah was given through Mosheh – the favour and the truth came through יהושע Messiah. The Scriptures Version 1998

John 1:16 For from his fullness we have all received, grace upon grace.  For the law was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ. English Standard Version

The Torah is good.  It is still important today.  Yahushua is the living Torah.  He taught us how to live.  He gave us the grace to live like He did.  Our parents taught us that grace is the ability to keep the Torah.

Below are some verses that we picked out.  They are about how wonderful and awesome the Torah is.  Torah simply means “instructions for life.”

  1. Psalm 119:1 Blessed are the perfect in the way, Who walk in the Torah of יהוה!
  2. Psalm 119: 11 I have treasured up Your word in my heart, That I might not sin against You.
  3. Psalm 119: 16 I delight myself in Your laws; I do not forget Your word.
  4. Psalm 119: 35 Make me walk in the path of Your commands, For I have delighted in it.
  5. Psalm 119:97 O how I love Your Torah! It is my study all day long.
  6. Psalm 119:103 How sweet to my taste has Your word been, More than honey to my mouth!
  7. Psalm 119:127 Therefore I have loved Your commands More than gold, even fine gold!
  8. Psalm 119:142 Your righteousness is righteousness forever, And Your Torah is truth.
  9. Psalm 119:163 I have hated falsehood and loathe it, Your Torah I have loved.
  10. Psalm 119:165 Great peace have those loving Your Torah, And for them there is no stumbling-block.

Yahushua is God

Yahushua was the Word and the Word was Elohim.  (John 1:1)

Yahushua is the son of Elohim. (John 1:34, 1:49)

Yahushua is the Messiah. (John 1:41)

Yahushua is King of Israel (i.e. His covenant people and future nation under His rule.)

He is the King of Israel. (John 1:49)

Yahushua is the ruler of the kings of the earth. (Rev.1:5)

Yahushua is King of all His people who are scattered around the Earth.  The day will come when all the nations will have to bow down and summit to Yahushua—even the kings and world leaders.  We better start getting our acts together.

Yahushua is the End

He is the Aleph and the Taw, the beginning and the end. (Rev. 1:8)

Yahushua is the trustworthy witness. (Rev. 1:5)

The witness of Yahushua is the spirit of prophecy. (Rev. 19:10)

Yahushua knows what is going to happen in the End Days before He returns.  He is revealing to His servants what is going to happen.  We can trust Him because His witness is the spirit of prophecy.

We know and love Yahushua.  We know Yahushua love us too.  We believe He is coming.  May He come soon!
