Revelation 12:14Â And the woman was given two wings of a great eagle, to fly into the wilderness to her place, where she is nourished for a time and times and half a time, from the presence of the serpent.
There are some formations in Israel and Jordan that can be seen on a satellite map. A satellite map is a picture taken from space by an artificial satellite of part or the whole earth. One of the most amazing and special things we can see looking at a satellite map is a clear picture of an eagle spreading his wings over a certain part of Jordan.
Can you see the picture of the eagle? The top of this satellite picture is the modern-day country of Israel. The bottom of the map is modern-day Jordan. The body of water between Israel and Jordan is the Salt Sea.
In this picture, I am pointing to the head of the eagle. On top of the eagle’s head is a crown.
In the picture above, I am pointing to the talons of the eagle. Talons are the claws on the eagle’s feet. An eagle is a bird of prey.  An eagle can destroy his enemies, but an eagle can also be very protective.
On the map above, you can see part of the left wing. My brother is pointing out that Petra is hidden under the eagle’s wing.
Jordan is to the east of Israel and Palestine. As the sun rises over Jordan and sets over Israel, Jordan is in the shadow of the eagle’s wings.
Verses about Protection under the Eagle’s Wings
I picked out some verses that have to do with protection under YHWH’s wings or the wings of eagles.  There are lots of other verses in the Bible that talk about those two things.  One of the reasons why I picked out these ones is because they show protection under the shadow of His wings when the destruction comes.  They also talk about trusting and praising YHWH.
Psalm 17:8 Guard me as the apple of Your eye. Hide me under the shadow of Your wings.
Psalm 57:1 Show me favor, O Elohim, show me favor! For in You my being is taking refuge; And in the shadow of Your wings I take refuge, Until destruction passes by.
Psalm 63:7 For You have been my help, And in the shadow of Your wings I sing.
Isaiah 40:30-31 Even youths shall faint and be weary, and young men stumble and fall, but those who wait on יהוה renew their strength, they raise up the wing like eagles, they run and are not weary, they walk and do not faint.
The Eagle’s Wings Over Edom and Moab
There is prophecy about the eagle’s wings being in the regions of Edom and Moab. We know that YHWH’s people take refuge under the eagle’s wings. Understanding that the eagle’s wings are literal formations outlined in Jordan’s geography brings insight into the following prophecies.
Jeremiah 48:40 For thus said יהוה, “See, he soars like an eagle, and shall spread his wings over Mo’ab.
Moab is in Jordan—right under the eagle’s wings! The satellite picture we are looking at is right over Edom and Moab, part of modern-day Jordan.
Jeremiah 49:22Â See, like an eagle he flies up, and spreads his wings over Botsrah. And the heart of the mighty men of Edom in that day shall be like the heart of a woman in her pain.
In the verse above, YHWH says He will spread His wings over Botsrah. Botsrah was an ancient Edomite city. It was located in an area under the eagle’s wings. Other Scriptures show a place called Botsrah being a prophetic place of protection for YHWH’s people. See our post titled, Discovering Prophetic Botsrah.
The formation of the eagle’s wings over Jordan in combination with these verses gives evidence for an End Days’ place of protection in the country of Jordan.
