If there is one thing that we’ve wanted people to understand from this blog, it is that YHWH has a plan for His Bride in the modern-day country of Jordan. This has been our heart and motivation behind every post. This isn’t an easy or comfortable message for anyone, including our family. Our family has been in Jordan since April 2016, and we are always finding new Scripture to confirm this truth.
We have lived in Aqaba, Jordan for some of our time here. It is a port city and has a special economic zone. In the past, residency in Aqaba has been easily attained by foreigners, and shipping containers have been delivered right to the port. For these reasons, our family previously encouraged others who wanted to follow the call to Jordan to move to Aqaba. We saw Aqaba as a ‘gateway’ for entering Jordan.
Though Aqaba was a good place for us to land, the Scriptures teach that it is not the Bride of Messiah’s final destination before He comes back for her. Many prophetic Scriptures have a lot to say about other places within the country. We have been seeking YHWH to know where His Bride needs to be during the Tribulation.
As we asked questions about leaving Aqaba, I read Song of Songs. There is a ‘man’ and a ‘woman’ who go back and forth speaking to each other. Their dialogue gives information about Yahushua’s Bride in the days we are living in. While reading, something caught my attention. In verse 7 of chapter 1, the woman or Bride asks:
Song of Songs 1:7 Make known to me, O you whom my being loves, where you feed your flock, where you make it rest at noon. For why should I be as one who is veiled beside the flocks of your companions?
When I read this verse, I stopped. This is the exact question that my family and I were asking! The Bride’s question is very direct. It is a ‘where’ question. So, I expected Yahushua to speak plainly to His Bride and give a specific answer with a specific place. I got excited and continued reading.
Song of Songs 1:8 If you do not know, O beautiful among women, go in the footsteps of the flock, and feed your little goats beside the shepherds’ dwellings.
After reading this verse in English, I was disappointed. The directions seemed so vague, like a parable. There seemed to be no specific place mentioned. I knew there must be more to Yahushua’s answer, so I did a Strong’s search to learn from the Hebrew. Starting with verse 7, the Hebrew reveals information that is hidden in the English.
Take a look at this below.
From verse 7, we see the woman is asking a two-part question. Where do you shepherd? And where do you rest at noon? The Hebrew word ‘ravatz’ means to make rest. It means to lay down, specifically for an animal. Noon is the turning point of the day, the halfway point. For a shepherd, a lot of work has already been done by noon, but there is still more work ahead. Noon is a time to rest during the heat of the day before the afternoon comes and the shepherd must lead His sheep on. Because I understand this Scripture to be a revelation about the location of the Bride during the Tribulation, it makes sense to me that noonday is a reference to the halfway point of the Tribulation.
In English, the last phrase reads ‘the flocks of your companions’ or ‘the flocks of your friends.’ I find these phrases confusing. Adjectives follow nouns in Hebrew, and the Hebrew word ‘edrey’ is singular for flock. So I propose that ‘your companions’ is describing the ‘flock’ as an adjective instead of a possessive noun. This would mean there is one flock, the Shepherd’s flock, and it is made up of the Shepherd’s companions.
We see that the Shepherd’s flock is knit together. So, the woman wants to know where the flock will be knit together, as in no longer scattered and divided. The woman certainly does not want to be left in the dark about the location where the flock will be united under the Shepherd. Neither should we remain in the dark about this!
From looking at this verse in Hebrew we have, “Tell me whom my soul loves, where you feed/shepherd; where you rest at noonday. For how can I be veiled of your united/knit together flock?”
Now let’s look at Yahushua’s answer (above). Let’s keep in mind He is answering a ‘where’ question about where His flock will be and as a result where He will be too. He starts by saying, “If you don’t know the beautiful among women, go forth…” This phrase ‘go forth’ is from the Hebrew word ‘yatza.’ This word stood out to me as it is the name of one of the weekly Torah portions. The Torah portion starts in Genesis 28:10 when Jacob/Ya’aqob went out from his home to travel to his uncle.
Genesis 28:10 And Ya‛aqoḇ went out from Be’ěrsheḇa and went toward Ḥaran.
This word means to go out, to go forth, or to leave. So Yahushua is telling His Bride to leave somewhere. The words following are ‘bieqbey hatzon’ translated as ‘in the footsteps of the flocks.’ This is where looking at the Hebrew got exciting for me. The letters in the word footsteps are the same Hebrew letters for the name Ya’aqob or Jacob. In my study of this word, it also helps that I am studying Arabic too. Here are my findings as I looked at the origin of this word in Hebrew, Arabic, and Aramaic.
Yahushua uses the word ‘Aqaba’ in His reply to a specific ‘where’ question. I propose that Yahushua is saying to go forth from Aqaba. It seems logical to me that the Bride would have to be in Aqaba to be sent forth from Aqaba. The word ‘flock’ following ‘Aqaba’ in verse 8 is also a feminine noun, unlike the other references to the flock in these verses, which is another indicator we are talking about the Bride.
In verse 8, Yahushua goes on to say, “And feed your female goats at the tents of the Shepherd.” I want to give some possible interpretations of this verse. There is a location on the Israel side of the Salt Sea called En Gedi. The word for female goats is ‘gedi.’ Perhaps ‘gedi’ is a reference to Yahushua’s flock, or possibly it is a reference to the location by the Salt Sea. The area surrounding the Salt Sea is known as the Valley of Akor. We know from other Scriptures that the Valley of Akor is going to be a significant place for the Bride of Messiah.
Isaiah 65:9-10 “And I shall bring forth a seed from Ya‛aqoḇ, and from Yehuḏah an heir of My mountains. And My chosen ones shall inherit it, and My servants dwell there. And Sharon shall be a fold of flocks, and the Valley of Aḵor a place for herds to lie down, for My people who have sought Me.
The Valley of Akor is the place where the Bride will make a covenant with YHWH just as the people of Israel did when they left Egypt and made a covenant with Him at Mount Sinai.
Hosea 2:14-16 “Therefore, see, I am alluring her, and shall lead her into the wilderness, and shall speak to her heart, and give to her vineyards from there, and the Valley of Aḵor as a door of expectation. And there she shall respond as in the days of her youth, as in the day when she came up from the land of Mitsrayim. “And it shall be, in that day,” declares יהוה, “that you call Me ‘My Husband,’ and no longer call Me ‘My Ba‛al.’
Going back to Song of Songs the word for tents in verse 8 is ‘mishkanot.’ ‘Mishkan’ is the singular form of this word meaning tent; it can also refer to the Tabernacle or Dwelling Place of YHWH. ‘Mishkanot’ is the plural form meaning tents. Because ‘mishkanot’ is plural, we know it cannot be referring to the Tabernacle.
The root word for tent ‘shakan’ is a reference to YHWH’s glory dwelling with us. This place where there are tents is a place of protection for YHWH’s flock. These tents also remind me of the many staying places in Yahushua’s Father’s house.
John 14:1-4 “Let not your heart be troubled. Believe in Elohim, believe also in Me. In My Father’s house are many staying places. And if not, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I shall come again and receive you to Myself, that where I am, you might be too. And where I go you know, and the way you know.”
Although these verses still seem unclear regarding where to go, we know that there will be a covenant made with the Bride, as in the days when His people left Egypt. Also, there will be a place of protection, where the Shepherd Himself will lead His flock to dwell in His glory.
Our family doesn’t believe Aqaba is the location of YHWH’s knit-together flock, but rather Aqaba is a place where some have lived for a time, and a good beginning. YHWH’s knit-together flock will be in a place in Jordan north of Aqaba. We have sought YHWH for where His knit-together flock will be and for the steps we need to take to get there. We encourage you to do the same. We are living in perilous times. Everyone wanting to escape the destruction coming to the Earth needs to make decisions about how to get themselves and their loved ones into the safe place.
I highly recommend reading my mom’s book The Call to Jordan: An Invitation Messiah’s Bride.
tion forIn this book, she takes a detailed look at many Scriptures that have to do with the times we are living in and the place of protection. She wrote and published this book right before the COVID events.
Revelation 14:1-5 And I looked and saw a Lamb standing on Mount Tsiyon, and with Him one hundred and forty-four thousand, having His Father’s Name written upon their foreheads. And I heard a voice out of the heaven, like the voice of many waters, and like the voice of loud thunder, and I heard the sound of harpists playing their harps. And they sang a renewed song before the throne, and before the four living creatures, and the elders. And no one was able to learn that song except the hundred and forty-four thousand who were redeemed from the earth. They are those who were not defiled with women, for they are maidens. They are those following the Lamb wherever He leads them on. They were redeemed from among men, being first-fruits to Elohim and to the Lamb. And in their mouth was found no falsehood, for they are blameless before the throne of Elohim.
This passage in Revelation, describing the 144,000, applies to the people marked by YHWH who are redeemed from the Earth and follow the Lamb where He leads His sheep.
John 10:27-28 “My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me. And I give them everlasting life, and they shall by no means ever perish, and no one shall snatch them out of My hand.”
