Our Jubilee

Written By A.R.

The book of Jubilees tracks the years of a person’s life in a way that is not common.  From Genesis 9:29, we know that Noah lived 950 years.  The book of Jubilees also recorded that Noah lived to 950, but it used an additional way to describe the years of Noah’s life.

Jubilees 10:15-16 And Noah slept with his fathers and was buried on Mount Lubar in the land of Ararat. Nine hundred and fifty years he completed in his life, nineteen jubilees and two weeks and five years [1659].

From Jubilees, we learn that 950 years equals 19 jubilees, 2 weeks, and 5 years.  It is not entirely obvious what is meant by 19 jubilees, 2 weeks, and 5 years.  We need to know a few things about what these terms mean in this context, and then we can solve this simple math problem that brings the books of Genesis and Jubilees into perfect agreement.

A jubilee is 49 years.  It is seven years times seven; there are seven cycles of seven years in a jubilee.  As for weeks, in this context, weeks are a group of 7 years, and a year is a year.  With this understanding, we can solve the math problem given in Jubilees 10:16.

Noah lived 19 jubilees, meaning he lived 19 times 49 years, which equals 931 years.  He lived 2 weeks, meaning 2 times 7 years, equaling 14 years.  Adding 931 to 14, we get 945.  If we add 5 years, we find the years of Noah’s life—950 years!

Open to Learning

I turned 49 in January almost a year ago and entered my jubilee year!  A month later my husband also turned 49.  Sensing something special about our 50th year, I expected YHWH to bless us in some way as we walked with Him.  I hoped for an increase in wisdom, knowledge, and new insights.

In our fiftieth year, my husband suggested that we had more things to learn regarding Yah’s perfect calendar.  Throughout the last 14 years of walking in the truth of the Torah, we have studied almost every calendar used by Hebraic people.  I was open to studying this subject once again, knowing there was something YHWH wanted to teach us.  I knew we still had questions about the calendar we were keeping as there seemed to be contradictions to the truth of the Scriptures.

We came across a blog article written by Tom Noss on his website standinfaith.org.  Tom presented the calendar topic in a way that aroused our curiosity.  He humbly shared his journey of studying the calendar and shared the resources that led to his understanding.  If you are interested, Tom’s article entitled What is God’s Calendar and Why Does it Matter? is below.

https://standinfaith.org/gods-calendar/

After watching the videos that Tom graciously supplied in his article, my husband and I were amazed to discover answers to many of our lingering calendar questions.  We found truths about the calendar that have been lost, hidden, and distorted.  We were truly blessed by the teachings we discovered on the calendar which have opened our eyes to more truth.

Our Journey of Truth

In our journey to discover the truth about YHWH’s plan to save a remnant, we are leaving no stone unturned.  This means we are willing to examine evidence that some have tossed aside—rejected.  However, we are not alone in our exploration as others are looking at the same sources.  None of us seems to have the whole picture, but some have found pieces that perfectly fit together.  When we are searching for truth, sometimes we find more than what we are looking for.

In this post, I would like to share some teachings that have greatly enlightened our family in the last year.  Thanks to other believers in Yahushua, we have learned valuable truths about subjects that matter in light of YHWH’s End Days plan of salvation:  the Call to Jordan.  These are teachings our family has thoroughly studied and tested.  While we do not embrace everything these teachers say, we believe them to have truth regarding the subjects for which we are recommending them.  As fellow truth-seekers, we humbly submit their teachings to you, for we understand that the more Yah’s people embrace truth, the more YHWH will show us.

All truth matters for those YHWH is gathering as a part of His remnant.

We are recommending teachings on the following subjects.

  • Pronunciation of the Sacred Name
  • Non-canonical Writings
  • Biblical Cosmology
  • Yah’s Calendar
  • The Start of the Day

I recognize these are controversial topics.  Yet, there is something in us—a longing for truth—that keeps us seeking to understand.  Although we may sometimes avoid these topics, we want to know YHWH’s perspective.  His Word says He will reveal the truth in the Last Days, and so we have the faith to keep seeking.

Daniel 12:9-10  And he said, “Go, Dani’ěl, for the words are hidden and sealed till the time of the end.  Many shall be cleansed and made white, and refined. But the wrong shall do wrong – and none of the wrong shall understand, but those who have insight shall understand.”

Pronunciation of the Sacred Name

This topic is important to those responding to the Call to Jordan because there are precious promises given to those who know the Name.  In an email written to encourage our family, our son wrote:

So when will YHWH reveal to us the correct pronunciation of His Name?  The Scriptures teach that YHWH will teach us His Name in the End Days.  It makes sense that YHWH would reveal His true Name to the people He gathers in the End Days.  These are the people who take refuge in Him when judgment is given to the world.  (See Psalm 9 for the context of YHWH judging the Earth.)

Psalm 9:9-10 (Waw) And YHWH is a refuge for the crushed one, a refuge in times of distress. And those who know Your Name trust in You, for You have not forsaken those who seek You, O YHWH

Proverbs 18:10 The Name of YHWH is a strong tower; the righteous run into it and are safe.

I propose that the Name of YHWH is not just about spiritual security but also physical safety in the End Days.  Psalm 9 is about YHWH rising for End Day judgment.  Those who ‘know’ the Name of YHWH trust in Him for safety.  People can call upon the Name for salvation.  There is a particular event that accompanies the restoration of His Name.  That event is the Ingathering—of course!  He will restore His Name when He restores the lost people of Yisrael.

Let’s look at some of YHWH’s promises related to the revelation of His Name.

Speaking of the time of the Ingathering, He says in Jeremiah that “they” will know the Name.

Jeremiah 16:21 “Therefore see, I am causing them to know, this time I cause them to know My hand and My might. And they shall know that My Name is YHWH!”

Also, there is Jeremiah 23:6-8.

Jeremiah 23:6-8 “In His days Yehudah shall be saved, and Yisra’ěl dwell safely. And this is His Name whereby He shall be called:YHWH our Righteousness.’ “Therefore, see, the days are coming,” declares YHWH, “when they shall say no more, ‘As YHWH lives who brought up the children of Yisra’el out of the land of Mitsrayim,’ but, ‘As YHWH lives who brought up and led the seed of the house of Yisra’el out of the land of the north and from all the lands where I had driven them.’ And they shall dwell on their own soil.”

Ezekiel spoke of the same revelation during the time of the Ingathering — only, in this passage, we see that the nations will know His Name too!

Ezekiel 36:23-24 “And I shall set apart My great Name, which has been profaned among the nations, which you have profaned in their midst. And the nations shall know that I am YHWH,” declares the Master YHWH, “when I am set-apart in you before their eyes. And I shall take you from among the nations, and I shall gather you out of all lands, and I shall bring you into your own land.”

Zephaniah prophesied that when YHWH judges the nations in the End Days, then He will restore a pure language and everyone will call upon the Name of YHWH.

Zephaniah 3:8 “Therefore wait for Me,” declares YHWH, “until the day I rise up for plunder. For My judgment is to gather nations, to assemble reigns, to pour out on them My rage, all My burning wrath. For by the fire of My jealousy, all the earth shall be consumed.”

Zephaniah 3:9 “For then I shall turn unto the peoples a clean lip [language], so that they all call on the Name of YHWH, to serve Him with one shoulder.”

It seems clear from the prophets that YHWH will restore His Name when His people physically return.  His people will not be the only ones to call upon the Name.  The nations also will know His Name.

These are amazing promises!  They have kept our family continuing to seek the truth about the pronunciation of YHWH’s Name.

On a Sabbath morning this past year, I had the thought to search the letters that I thought most accurately reflected my understanding of the pronunciation of YHWH’s Name, “Y-a-h-u-w-a-h.”  When I typed this in, I found a book called Publish the Name of Yahuwah by B. Earl Allen at the following web address:

https://yahushua.net/YAHUWAH/

This FREE eBook is an excellent study on the pronunciation of the Name!  I have read articles and books as well as listened to testimonies about the pronunciation of the Name for the last 12 years.  I also have a good understanding of basic biblical Hebrew and have been able to come to some conclusions in my studies.  Mr. Allen thoroughly covered this topic, addressing many common pronunciations of the Name while maintaining respect toward others who view the pronunciation differently.  In his book, Mr. Allen taught in a humble yet convincing manner. It’s an easy read, and I recommend taking the time to read through the whole book stopping to understand everything Mr. Allen explains.

Non-Canonical Writings

When I wrote my first book, The Call to Jordan: A Call for All God’s People, I devoted several chapters to the topic of faith.  Starting with Noah, I looked at the people in Hebrews chapter 11 and considered how their faith examples relate to the End Days call to Jordan.  Noah demonstrated the faith to be saved from worldwide destruction; Abraham had the faith to move to another country and live as a foreigner; Moses had faith to fear YHWH rather than the government.  These and more are examples of faith we must possess when we follow Yahushua in His End Days calling of salvation.

An often overlooked man of great faith that we can learn a lot from is Enoch, who comes just before Noah in the Hebrews 11 list.

Hebrews 11:5 By belief [faith], Ḥanoḵ [Enoch] was translated so as not to see death, “and was not found because Elohim had translated him.” For before his translation he obtained witness, that he pleased Elohim.

Genesis 5 sums up his life in the following verses.

Genesis 5:21-22  And Ḥanoḵ [Enoch] lived sixty-five years, and brought forth Methushelaḥ.  And after he brought forth Methushelaḥ, Ḥanoḵ walked with Elohim three hundred years, and brought forth sons and daughters.

Gen 5:23-24  So all the days of Ḥanoḵ were three hundred and sixty-five years.  And Ḥanoḵ walked with Elohim. Then he was no more, for Elohim took him.

Enoch’s first son was Methuselah whose life is the longest recorded in the Bible.  Methusalah had a son called Lemek, and Lemek was the father of Noah.  Enoch was the great-grandfather of the man who was saved during the first worldwide destruction.

When Enoch was 365 years old, a very unique thing happened to him.  He was taken!  So meaningful was his experience that the Book of Genesis does not even mention his death. Genesis leaves us with the knowledge that YHWH “took him,” and the Book of Hebrews agrees with the account in Genesis.  Where did YHWH take Enoch?  What did Enoch see and learn?  Enoch pleased YHWH and was righteous, just as Noah was.  Does a man who pleased YHWH so much have some things to teach us about salvation in the End Days?

Enoch wrote a book.  It’s not in most Bibles; it’s a non-canonical writing.  I have read and heard arguments for not reading this book, and for many years, I stayed away from it.  However, this year, I decided to read 1 Enoch—twice!  Could a man with such great faith have written something for us here at the End of Days?  It turns out he has.  Here’s how his book starts:

1 Enoch 1:1 The words of the blessing of Enoch, with which he blessed the elect and righteous, who will be living in the day of tribulation when all the wicked and godless are to be removed.

1 Enoch 1:2 And he began his story saying:  Enoch a righteous man, whose eyes were opened by God, saw the vision of the Holy One in heaven, which the angles showed me, and I heard everything from them, and I saw and understood, but it was not for this generation, but for a remote one which is to come.

Enoch’s book was not for his generation, but for a remote one that will be on the earth at the time of the Tribulation!  Is it any wonder that ‘they’ tried to hide this book from us?  The truth found in Enoch’s book is needed to survive the End Days!  His book was written for us!  1 Enoch continues:

1 Enoch 1:3-4 Concerning the elect I said, as I began my story concerning them:  The Holy Great One will come out from His dwelling, and the eternal God will tread on the earth, (even) on Mount Sinai, and appear in the strength of His might from heaven.

Are you hooked yet?  There’s so much for the truth-seeker to discover and much of it is hidden in non-canonical writings!

Currently, our family is studying the book of Jubilees.  We are reading it verse by verse along with the Book of Genesis comparing it with the Bible.  We have a list of other non-canonical books we are looking forward to reading, studying, and testing against the truth found in the Scriptures.  We haven’t read all of the most popular non-canonical books, but we spend time preparing for the return of our Messiah seeking His truth in these books.

Biblical Cosmology

A friend who subscribes to our website challenged me to look into the topic of biblical cosmology.  When she found that I was open to studying it, she sent me the following teaching series by a Christian pastor named Dean Odle.  It is an eight-part series called The Sevenfold Doctrine of Creation.  Each part helps to shed light on what scripture teaches about creation.

As Yah’s people are awakening to the truth, lies are being exposed.  Mr. Odle does an excellent job on a few levels.  First, he shows what the Bible says about Creation.  He does not twist Scripture to conform to the populous view but takes an honest look at what the Word of Yah says.  Second, he shows how we have been deceived by NASA, our governments, our school systems, Hollywood, etc.  Further, Mr. Odle uses science, real science, to back up his claims.  Even if a person is skeptical, as was our family before watching this video series, this presentation is very thought-provoking.

The link for the first part of Mr. Odle’s teaching series is below.

While our family does not connect with much of Mr. Odle’s Christian doctrine, we respect his exhaustive research, presentation, and willingness to search for and share the truth on a very important subject.  If you have never studied this topic or given it a chance, this is a good place to start.

Yah’s Heavenly Calendar

When we begin to see the truth about creation, we can begin to see the truth about Yah’s calendar too.  As the Book of Genesis tells us, the sun, moon, and stars were created to keep time; in other words, they were created to keep Yah’s calendar (Genesis 1:14).  In truth, the sun, moon, and stars are like a big clock in the sky, and they keep time perfectly down to the millisecond for the days, months, seasons, years, jubilees, and of course, the set-apart days of YHWH.  It is amazing how it all works!  To understand, a person must be open to the truth found in non-canonical books such as 1 Enoch and Jubilees.  Truth sheds light on more truth.

For good teaching on Yah’s calendar, we have two recommendations.  Both of these are by Hebrew teachers who embrace both the Torah and Yahushua.

The first is by a woman named Asherit.  Asherit bases her studies on the Torah, the Dead Sea Scrolls, and 1 Enoch.  She is thorough in her studies.  Before watching her videos, our family wrote down our objections to what we understood about the ‘Enoch’ calendars before studying them.  In her video series, Asherit addressed all of our objections and many other lingering questions from previous calendar studies.  This teaching is a good place to start if you would like to test the ideas found in the variations of the Enoch calendar.

Asherit’s 5-part teaching can be found on YouTube.  It is titled Zadok Calendar in the Dead Sea Scrolls.  The links to her teaching are below.

It’s important to note, there are many different variations of the Enoch calendar with differing names.  This can be a bit confusing when trying to sort through understanding the calendar that YHWH revealed to Enoch.  The variations are often slight between those trying to use Enoch’s calendar.  With differing opinions, we all must study the matter and seek YHWH for what is true.  With this said, there is a specific calendar that we have spent many months studying and testing and which we currently connect with the most.  The calendar is presented by a husband and wife named John and Donna Minten, and they call it Yah’s Enoch Calendar.

John also has a YouTube channel with an 8-part teaching on the calendar and cosmology, which are interrelated.  Below is a link to the first of his series called Abba’s Creation, Cosmology, Calendar, and Covenants.

The Start of the Day

In some ways, I am saving the best for last.  It’s a simple truth.  However, it is one that many of us have gotten wrong because we have followed the traditions of man rather than examined Yah’s Word on the subject.  The following is a 5-part teaching put out by a YouTube channel called 2besavedcom.  The videos are short; none of them are longer than 10 minutes.  They are packed full of one verse after another giving evidence of when the Bible teaches is the start of the day.  The series is called When Does A Day Start—Morning or Evening?  The first part of the series is below.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R5xBdoWegTQ

The understanding presented in this short video series has brightened our path and opened up more truth to us.

Many times throughout our walks with YHWH, we have wondered what things we will see differently down the road.  YHWH has opened our eyes to many subjects; we have been walking with Him long enough to know there will be more things He will teach us.  We are open and hopeful that He will lead us to more truth, which will lead to our salvation as well as the salvation of others in the days ahead.

Thank You!

Thank you to Yahushua for guiding us in all truth.  He is our joy, our Jubilee!

Thank you to the many brothers and sisters in Messiah who are seeking YHWH with all their hearts and sharing what they learn along the way.

And thank you for sharing this journey with us!
