The Sheepfold in the Stars Series Part 3: The Good Shepherd and the Breaker

Written By J.C.

Welcome back to the Sheepfold in the Stars series!

I am having a good time with this study, and I hope you are too!

In Part 1, we looked at the Sheepfold constellation and how it witnesses to the End Days gathering place for YHWH’s people.  In Part 2, we saw how the Twins constellation represents Yahushua and His Bride.   Each part of this series builds on the previous one.  If you have not yet read the first two parts, click on the links below.

In Part 3, we will discuss the Good Shepherd and Breaker, the next two constellations in the Arc of Five.  These constellations can be found on a special band called the Milky Way.

The Milky Way:  Representing a Portal

The Milky Way is a large cloudy band that spans from one end of the Heavens to the opposite.   It appears milky in color against the night sky.  The Milky Way is visible in remote places under clear weather conditions when the moon is not shining.

The night sky is divided into three regions: Heaven, Earth, and Sheol (the grave).  The Milky Way stretches from the Heavens region, passes through the Earth, and continues down into the Sheol region.

The scriptural interpretation of the Milky Way is a portal, connecting these three regions of the sky!  It represents a special passageway, like a stairway for travel between these three different realms.  The Milky Way can be viewed as a background picture.  The constellations that are on it illustrate stories related to these three realms.

In this series, we are focusing on the Arc of Five: the Sheepfold, Twins, Good Shepherd, Breaker, and Bride.  Of these five constellations, the last four are on the Milky Way.  The Twins are stepping onto the Milky Way, the Good Shepherd as well.  The Breaker and Bride are almost fully on it.  This grabs my attention.

The Good Shepherd

Hebrew Name of the Constellation: Araga (ארגע)

The name comes from the Hebrew root verb raga, meaning to settle, quiet, or to make at rest; the adjective ragia means restful, peaceful, and quiet.  The word is closely related to the word ra’ah (רעה), translating to shepherd, feed, or pasture.

Pictographic Meaning of the Constellation: The Good Shepherd

The figure is uncomplicated and easy to trace.  It resembles a man who is a shepherd.  The top triangle area is his head and upper body.  The lower quadrilateral traces his lower body.  The brightest part of the constellation is the ‘hooked’ arm with which the Good Shepherd holds the lambs in his bosom.

The Good Shepherd Brings Comfort

Isaiah chapter 40 is a word of comfort from YHWH to His people during the trials of the End Days.  It begins with a cry in the wilderness to prepare the way for YHWH!  It goes on to tell about the return of the Master YHWH who will come in strength with a reward for His people.

YHWH’s wisdom is contrasted with the worthlessness of the nations.  He will bring down the world’s ‘leaders,’ the governments.  The passage ends by reassuring those who are waiting on YHWH.  Not only will they have endurance in the End Days, but they will have a special renewed strength, soaring on “wings like eagles.”

In Isaiah 40:11, Yahushua, at His return, is likened to a shepherd.  His attributes are those of a gentle and very caring shepherd, helping the young and weak.  The verse below matches the figure depicted in the stars!

Isaiah 40:11 “He feeds His flock like a shepherd, He gathers the lambs with His arm, and carries them in His bosom, gently leading those who are with young.”

YHWH Our Shepherd

Throughout Scripture, YHWH is seen as the Shepherd of His people.

Psalm 23:1 “יהוה is my shepherd; I do not lack.”

Psalm 100:3 “Know that יהוה, He is Elohim; He has made us, and we are His His people and the sheep of His pasture.”

YHWH’s people are scattered in all the nations.  In other words, YHWH’s sheep are dispersed around the world.  This is a result of a long history of the sin of the House of Israel AND the sin that His people walk in today.

Isaiah 53:6 “We all, like sheep, went astray, each one of us has turned to his own way. And יהוה has laid on Him the crookedness of us all.”

Ezekiel 34:6 “My sheep wandered through all the mountains, and on every high hill. And My sheep were scattered over all the face of the earth, and no one was seeking or searching for them.”

YHWH our Shepherd desires for His people to be safely gathered together.  In speaking about the End Days, the prophets often declared the gathering of YHWH’s people together in one fold.

Ezekiel 34:11-12 “ ‘For thus said the Master יהוה,’ “See, I Myself shall search for My sheep and seek them out. As a shepherd seeks out his flock on the day he is among his scattered sheep, so I shall seek out My sheep and deliver them from all the places where they were scattered in a day of cloud and thick darkness.” ’ ”

Jeremiah 23:3-4  “ ‘Therefore I shall gather the remnant of My flock out of all the lands where I have driven them and shall bring them back to their fold. And they shall bear and increase. And I shall raise up shepherds over them, and they shall feed them. And they shall fear no more, nor be discouraged, nor shall they be lacking,’ declares יהוה.”

Ezekiel 37:24  “…while Dawiḏ My servant is sovereign over them. And they shall all have one shepherd and walk in My right-rulings and guard My laws, and shall do them.”

These verses only scratch the surface about YHWH gathering His people as sheep in the End Days.  For anyone who has their eyes open to the End Days gathering, it is incredible how often it is described in Scripture.

Let’s look to Yahushua, our Good Shepherd.

Yahushua Said, “I Am the Good Shepherd”

John 10:14 “I am the good shepherd. And I know Mine, and Mine know Me.”

As believers in Yahushua, we know that He is our Good Shepherd.  We are comforted by this imagery.  Sometimes we can even feel His arms wrapped around us.  We love passages like Psalm 23 and Psalm 100 because they make us feel safe and close to our Good Shepherd.   The constellation depicting His role as our Shepherd is an incredible testimony of Him!

My nightly routine includes going out to look at the stars.   Even if it is just a glance at one constellation, it is like reading a Bible verse before bed.  The Good Shepherd reminds me of His guidance in my life.  It also reassures me that He will gather His people in the End Days in His gentle way.

To me, the Sheepfold and the Good Shepherd constellations witness together.  The Good Shepherd represents the Messiah.  The door in the Sheepfold constellation also represents Yahushua.  Whoever enters through Him will be saved!

John 10:9 “I am the door. Whoever enters through Me, he shall be saved, and shall go in and shall go out and find pasture.”

Having looked at the Sheepfold and the Good Shepherd, we will now examine the Breaker, which will continue this exciting prophetic story!

The Breaker

The Hebrew Name of the Constellation: Perets (פרץ)

The Hebrew word translates as to breach, break forth/through, disperse, and burst open.

Pictographic Name of the Constellation:  The Breaker

The constellation represents one who breaks/breaches forth to provide a way.  This constellation can also be called the ‘Waymaker.’  It is a man who makes a way for others.  Can you guess who this constellation represents?  His right arm is flexed showing his strength and power.  The left arm is stretched out implying his ability to reach out and conquer (see Ezek. 20:33-34).  The Breaker’s legs are stepping forward as if he is ascending or descending a stairway.

The Path of the Breaker

The Breaker depicts a man walking up and down a stairway.  The Breaker is located in the Heavens region of the sky.  Since it is located in this region, it rotates counterclockwise around the North Star.  Following a circular path, it starts high in the Heavens region.  Throughout the night it travels downward nearing the Ecliptic, which is the Earth region.  It continues its return back to a high place in the Heavens.  So, as the Breaker travels, it rotates 180° downward toward the Ecliptic, and then it completes the full circle by traveling another 180° upward toward the Heaven region.

This constellation represents someone who comes from Heaven to Earth and then ascends again.  If you haven’t guessed yet, the Breaker represents Messiah, the Son of Adam.

John 3:13  “And no one has gone up into the heaven except He who came down from the heaven – the Son of Aḏam.”

The Breaker Prophesied in Micah

In the two verses below, the Hebrew words botsrah and perets are used.  Botsrah is the name for the Sheepfold constellation, while Perets is the title of the Breaker.

Micah 2:12  “I shall certainly gather all of you, O Ya‛aqoḇ, I shall bring together the remnant of Yisra’ěl, put them together like sheep of the fold [Botsrah], like a flock in the midst of their pasture, they being noisy because of men.”

Micah 2:13  “The breach-maker [Perets] shall go up before them. They shall break out, and pass through the gate, and go out by it, and their sovereign pass before them, with יהוה at their head!”

The Breach-maker in Micah 2:13 is the King of the people who will be gathered in Botsrah.  This is Yahushua Messiah, the Good Shepherd of His gathered sheep.  Further, the verse quoted above says that YHWH will lead His people out of the gate.  The Scriptures and the stars testify together.  Yahushua will physically appear to His people at the sheepfold as the Waymaker.  As they pass through the gate and exit the sheepfold, He—their King and Elohim—will lead them.

The people gathered in the sheepfold will anticipate greeting their Messiah.  When He finally comes, I imagine that this future event will be exceedingly joyful!  They will see Yahushua face to face; they will follow their Good Shepherd out of the sheepfold.

I pray that I will be a part of this group.  How awesome will it be to meet Yahushua in the Sheepfold!

What is even more thrilling; the Good Shepherd and the Breaker are positioned as if they are making a way for the Bride to get to Heaven!  Look at the Breaker’s arm reaching out towards the Bride.  It looks as if he is directing the way and showing His power in the process.

Prophecy in John 10

We looked at how the prophetic story revealed in Micah chapter 2 matches the insights from the stars.  John chapter 10 further validates Yahushua’s appearance to those gathered in the sheepfold.  Just as the Breaker will pass through the gate, the passage below mentions the Shepherd entering through the door.

John 10:1-2  “Truly, truly, I say to you, he who does not enter through the door into the sheepfold, but climbs up by another way, that one is a thief and a robber. But he who enters through the door is the shepherd of the sheep.”

Yahushua’s sheep will recognize Him when He comes to the sheepfold for two reasons:

  1. He will enter through the door (or gate) of the sheepfold. Anyone not entering through the door is not Him.
  2. The true sheep (His people) will know Yahushua by His voice. He will know all of them by their name.

John 10:3-4  “The doorkeeper opens for him, and the sheep hear his voice. And he calls his own sheep by name and leads them out.  And when he has brought out his own sheep, he goes before them. And the sheep follow him because they know his voice.

Summary

In summary, while Micah 2 focuses on Messiah as the Breaker, John 10 names Him as the Good Shepherd.  The two prophetic passages highlight the same event—Yahushua coming to His people at the sheepfold in Botsrah.  These two roles of Messiah are also portrayed in the constellations.  YHWH speaks through many testimonies.  Halleluyah!

Having read this article, I hope your appreciation for the constellations is growing and your knowledge is increasing.

If you liked this study, stay tuned for Part 4.  I will discuss the Bride constellation.  We will see how this constellation represents the woman who is leaning on her beloved and will be seated in the Heavens.  This will complete the story of the Arc of Five!
