The Ingathering

Note to Reader: In this teaching, YHWH is used to refer to the LORD God, Creator.  And Yahushua is used for His Son, who is the LORD God manifested in the flesh, as Messiah and Savior.  Unless otherwise stated, all Scripture references are taken from the 1998 version of The Scriptures by the Institute for Scripture Research.

Many believers living around the world today are aware of a concept called The Ingathering.  This is a topic we can read a lot about in Scripture.  Many of the Prophets, Psalms, and even the Gospels talk about YHWH gathering His people.  However, there are a lot of questions that arise when studying the Ingathering as well.  What are the purposes behind YHWH gathering His people back into their land?  When will the Ingathering occur?  How does this event affect our lives today?   I hope to be able to answer some of these questions and more in this teaching.

Yahushua Returns When His People Are Gathered

These next few passages are in the context of YHWH gathering His people out of the lands in which He has scattered them.  Furthermore, they describe a certain person who will rise in those days.  This Man is Yahushua Messiah at His Second Coming to the earth!

Jeremiah 23:3-6 “Therefore I shall gather the remnant of My flock out of all the lands where I have driven them, and shall bring them back to their fold. And they shall bear and increase. And I shall raise up shepherds over them, and they shall feed them.  And they shall fear no more, nor be discouraged, nor shall they be lacking,” declares יהוה. “See, the days are coming,” declares יהוה, “when I shall raise for Dawiḏ a Branch of righteousness, and a Sovereign shall reign and act wisely, and shall do right-ruling and righteousness in the earth.  In His days Yehuḏah shall be saved, and Yisra’ěl dwell safely.  And this is His Name whereby He shall be called: ‘יהוה our Righteousness.’”

Jeremiah 33:7-15 And I shall turn back the captivity of Yehuḏah and the captivity of Yisra’ěl, and shall build them as at the first, and shall cleanse them from all their crookedness that they have sinned against Me. And I shall pardon all their crookednesses that they have sinned and by which they have transgressed against Me.  And it shall be to Me a name of joy, a praise, and a pride before all nations of the earth, who hear all the good I am doing to them, and they shall fear and tremble for all the goodness and all the peace I am doing to it.’ “Thus said יהוה, ‘In this place of which you say, “It is dried up, without man and without beast,” in the cities of Yehuḏah, in the streets of Yerushalayim that are deserted, without man and without inhabitant and without beast, there shall once again be heard the voice of joy and the voice of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom and the voice of the bride, the voice of those who are saying, “Praise יהוה of hosts, for יהוה is good, for His loving-commitment is forever,” of those who are bringing the offering of praise into the House of יהוה.  For I shall turn back the captivity of the land, as at the first,’ declares יהוה.  “Thus said יהוה of hosts, ‘In this place which is dried up, without man and without beast, and in all its cities, there shall once again be a home of shepherds causing their flocks to lie down.  In the cities of the mountains, in the cities of the low country, and in the cities of the South, and in the land of Binyamin, and in the places around Yerushalayim, and in the cities of Yehuḏah, the flocks once again pass under the hands of him who counts them,’ declares יהוה.  See, the days are coming,’ declares יהוה, ‘when I shall establish the good word which I have promised to the house of Yisra’ěl and to the house of Yehuḏah: In those days and at that time I cause a Branch of righteousness to spring forth for Dawiḏ. And He shall do right-ruling and righteousness in the earth.

Ezekiel 34:13-24 “And I shall bring them out from the peoples and gather them from the lands, and shall bring them to their own land. And I shall feed them on the mountains of Yisra’ěl, in the valleys, and in all the dwellings of the land.  In good pasture I shall feed them, and their fold shall be on the high mountains of Yisra’ěl. They shall lie there in a good fold and feed in rich pasture on the mountains of Yisra’ěl.  I shall feed My flock and make them lie down,” declares the Master יהוה. “I shall seek out the lost and bring back the strayed. And I shall bind up the broken and strengthen what was sick, but the fat and the strong I shall destroy. I shall feed them with right-ruling.” And as for you, O My flock, thus said the Master יהוה, “See, I am judging between sheep and sheep, between rams and goats. Is it not enough for you to have eaten up the good pasture, and the rest of your pasture you trample with your feet. Or that you should drink of the clear waters, and the rest you muddy with your feet?  And as for My flock, they eat what you have trampled with your feet, and they drink what you have muddied with your feet.” Therefore thus said the Master יהוה to them, “See, I Myself shall judge between fat and lean sheep. Because you have pushed with flank and shoulder, and thrust at all the weak ones with your horns, and scattered them abroad, therefore I shall save My flock, and let them no longer be a prey. And I shall judge between sheep and sheep. And I shall raise up over them one shepherd, My servant Dawiḏ, and he shall feed them. He shall feed them and be their shepherd.  And I, יהוה, shall be their Elohim, and My servant Dawiḏ a prince in their midst. I, יהוה, have spoken.

How do we know this is Yahushua?  Well, Jeremiah says He is a “Branch of Righteousness” and a “King.”

The disciple Nathaniel testified of Yahushua was as follows:

John 1:49 Nethan’ěl answered and said to Him, “Rabbi, You are the Son of Elohim! You are the Sovereign of Yisra’ěl!”

Yahushua received this testimony.  When Messiah returns, He will be coming as a Righteous King.

Ezekiel describes Him as a “Shepherd” and “Prince” in Israel.  Yahushua proclaimed that he was the Good Shepherd.

John 10:14 “I am the good shepherd.  And I know Mine, and Mine know Me.”

Ezekiel and Jeremiah both refer to this person as YHWH’s servant “David, a prince.”  We know from the genealogy given in Matthew 1 that Yahushua is from the line of King David.

Matthew 1:1 The book of the genealogy of יהושע Messiah, Son of Dawiḏ, Son of Aḇraham.

Jeremiah and Ezekiel both help us to understand when Yahushua returns to the Earth.  He comes at the time when YHWH has gathered His people.  He will not be returning before this event.  The Ingathering must take place for Messiah to return.  Why can’t Yahushua come before the Ingathering?  Well, Yahushua is coming for a Bride.  Can Yahushua come for a Bride scattered all around the Earth?  Yahushua is coming to shepherd one flock (His people).  Would Messiah shepherd a flock not gathered together?  No, Yahushua will come for a people gathered together.  This is what Jeremiah and Ezekiel are prophesying.

Wait a minute.  Isn’t Yahushua shepherding His people right now, while they are scattered?  The answer is yes.  He is the Good Shepherd.  He is leading His sheep, but His sheep aren’t together in one flock dwelling in safe pastures.  He will lead His people to one gathering place and manifest as the Shepherd-King of Israel.

The Ingathering Occurs DURING Jacob’s Troubles

Jeremiah 30:1-7 The word that came to Yirmeyahu from יהוה, saying, “Thus spoke יהוה Elohim of Yisra’ěl, saying, ‘Write in a book for yourself all the words that I have spoken to you.  For look, the days are coming,’ declares יהוה, ‘when I shall turn back the captivity of My people Yisra’ěl and Yehuḏah,’ declares יהוה, ‘and I shall bring them back to the land that I gave to their fathers, and let them possess it.’ ” And these are the words יהוה spoke concerning Yisra’ěl and Yehuḏah.  “For this is what יהוה said, ‘We have heard a voice of trembling, of fear, and not of peace.  Ask now, and see if a man is giving birth. Why do I see every man with his hands on his loins like a woman in labour, and all faces turned pale?  Oh! For great is that day, there is none like it. And it is the time of Ya‛aqoḇ’s distress, but he shall be saved out of it.”

The time of YHWH gathering His people is mentioned as the time of “Jacob’s Troubles.”  Many people who read the Scriptures are aware that it talks about a time called Jacob’s Troubles.  However, Jeremiah said that Jacob shall be saved from this distress.  Currently, His people are dispersed in the nations.  YHWH’s judgment is coming to the Earth, but YHWH promises to save His people out of this trouble.  He has a plan of redemption for His people.

It is prophesied in this passage that YHWH will bring us out of Jacob’s Troubles by gathering His people.  That is how He will save Jacob from total destruction.

Jeremiah 30:10-11 And you, do not fear, O Ya‛aqoḇ My servant,’ declares יהוה, ‘nor be discouraged, O Yisra’ěl. For look, I am saving you from afar, and your seed from the land of their captivity. And Ya‛aqoḇ shall return, and have rest and be at ease, with no one to trouble him.  For I am with you,’ declares יהוה, ‘to save you. Though I make a complete end of all nations where I have scattered you, yet I do not make a complete end of you. But I shall reprove you in judgment, and by no means leave you unpunished.’

The nations will be completely destroyed by YHWH.  However, His people will be spared.  He does this by bringing His people to a common place to escape His wrath.  He gathers His people during Jacob’s Troubles so that they might be saved from destruction.

YHWH Gathers His People FOR HIS NAME’S SAKE

There are purposes for YHWH gathering His people.  After all, the Father never does anything for no reason, especially a great and mighty act such as the Ingathering.

Ezekiel 20:41-44As a sweet fragrance I shall accept you when I bring you out from the peoples. And I shall gather you out of the lands where you have been scattered. And I shall be set apart in you before the nations.  And you shall know that I am יהוה, when I bring you into the land of Yisra’ěl, into the land for which I lifted My hand in an oath to give to your fathers.  And there you shall remember your ways and all your deeds with which you were defiled. And you shall loathe yourselves in your own sight because of all the evils that you did.  And you shall know that I am יהוה, when I have dealt with you for My Name’s sake, not according to your evil ways nor according to your corrupt deeds, O house of Yisra’ěl,” declares the Master יהוה.’ ”

Notice that YHWH gathering His people is a “sweet fragrance.”  It is a pleasant event to be part of!  Although people will be leaving their homelands, it might be the most joyful time in all of history!

Ezekiel 36:21-24 “But I had compassion on My set-apart Name, which the house of Yisra’ěl had profaned among the nations wherever they went.  Therefore say to the house of Yisra’ěl, ‘Thus said the Master יהוה, “I do not do this for your sake, O house of Yisra’ěl, but for My set-apart Name’s sake, which you have profaned among the nations wherever you went.  And I shall set apart My great Name, which has been profaned among the nations, which you have profaned in their midst. And the nations shall know that I am יהוה,” declares the Master יהוה, “when I am set apart in you before their eyes.  And I shall take you from among the nations, and I shall gather you out of all lands, and I shall bring you into your own land.”

Both of these passages are in the context of YHWH gathering His people.

YHWH makes it clear that He does not gather us for our sake, nor because we deserve it, but for His Set-Apart Name’s sake.

YHWH’s Name is meant to be Set-Apart, and not taken in vain.  However, the nations, including the scattered sheep of Israel, have profaned His Name.  YHWH is saying He will gather His Set-Apart people to glorify His own Set-Apart Name.  This is like the Exodus out of Egypt.  The surrounding nations were in awe of the power of the Mighty One of Israel!

There are many mighty acts that YHWH performed on behalf of His people written in the Scriptures.  However, the Ingathering is something that will outshine many of those events.

Jeremiah 16:14-21 “Therefore see, the days are coming,” declares יהוה, “when it is no longer said, ‘יהוה lives who brought up the children of Yisra’ěl from the land of Mitsrayim,’ but, ‘יהוה lives who brought up the children of Yisra’ěl from the land of the north and from all the lands where He had driven them.’ For I shall bring them back into their land I gave to their fathers. “See, I am sending for many fishermen,” declares יהוה, “and they shall fish them. And after that I shall send for many hunters, and they shall hunt them from every mountain and every hill, and out of the holes of the rocks.  For My eyes are on all their ways; they have not been hidden from My face, nor has their crookedness been hidden from My eyes.  And first I shall repay double for their crookedness and their sin, because they have defiled My land with the dead bodies of their disgusting matters, and have filled My inheritance with their abominations.” O יהוה, my strength and my stronghold and my refuge, in the day of distress the nations shall come to You from the ends of the earth and say, “Our fathers have inherited only falsehood, futility, and there is no value in them.” Would a man make mighty ones for himself, which are not mighty ones?  Therefore see, I am causing them to know, this time I cause them to know My hand and My might. And they shall know that My Name is יהוה!”

The nations not only fear YHWH, but they also know that He is YHWH.  They know His Name!  YHWH will be highly esteemed through gathering His people!  Not only will Israel (the people in covenant with YHWH through Yahushua) understand His Name, but all the nations will know who He is (Ezekiel 36:23).  YHWH says, “This time I am causing them to know.”  Many other times throughout history mankind has rejected His Name and therefore rejected Him as Elohim.  It will be during the time of the Ingathering that everyone knows His hand and His might.  People should already know that He is YHWH, but for some reason, people forget His capabilities.  This time is the time when people will finally know for sure that He is YHWH.

The Concept of “Peace!”

We are told many times throughout Scripture to watch and be sober because the Day of YHWH is near and comes suddenly.  However, the world does not understand this concept.

Most people in the world are not watching soberly.  The world is going about its business as if nothing is going to happen.  In fact, the world is getting worse and more lost day by day.

Jeremiah 23:16-20 Thus said יהוה of hosts, “Do not listen to the words of the prophets who prophesy to you, they lead you astray. They speak a vision of their own heart, not from the mouth of יהוה.  “They keep on saying to those who despise Me, ‘יהוה has said you shall have peace.’ And to all who walk according to the stubbornness of their own heart they say, ‘No evil comes upon you.’ ” For who has stood in the counsel of יהוה, and has seen and heard His word? Who has listened to His word and obeyed it?  See, a storm of יהוה shall go forth in a rage, a whirling storm! It whirls on the head of the wrong.  The displeasure of יהוה shall not turn back until He has done and established the purposes of His heart. In the latter days you shall understand it perfectly.

In this passage about the Ingathering, YHWH is angry with the prophets who falsely prophesied.  These prophets deceived others by speaking messages not from YHWH.  They tell people, “No evil comes upon you,” and “YHWH said you shall have peace.”  In response, YHWH says that He “shall go forth in a rage, a whirling storm!  It whirls on the head of the wrong.”  This type of storm sounds devastating.  Evil does come!  There is not going to be peace in the world unless Yahushua returns with righteous judgment and cleansing.  Later in the chapter, YHWH punishes these false prophets for changing the Words of the living Elohim (Jeremiah 23:36-40).

YHWH says He will gather Israel and Judah to safety.  His people are dispersed around the world, but YHWH wants His people to know there is no peace or safety in the nations.  He judges the nations as a whirling storm!

1 Thessalonians 5:2-4 For you yourselves know very well that the day of יהוה comes as a thief in the night.  For when they say, “Peace and safety!” then suddenly destruction comes upon them, as labour pains upon a pregnant woman, and they shall not escape.  But you, brothers, are not in darkness so that this Day should overtake you as a thief.

YHWH’s people are not supposed to be ignorant about this destruction coming.  They are supposed to be informed about the way YHWH intends to save them from destruction.  YHWH does want peace for His people, but He doesn’t want us to have a false sense of world peace.  He wants a peace that can only be found in covenant with Him.

Ezekiel 34:23-25 “And I shall raise up over them one shepherd, My servant Dawiḏ, and he shall feed them.  He shall feed them and be their shepherd.  “And I, יהוה, shall be their Elohim, and My servant Dawiḏ a prince in their midst. I, יהוה, have spoken.  “And I shall make a covenant of peace with them, and make evil beasts cease from the land. And they shall dwell safely in the wilderness and sleep in the forest.

Ezekiel 37:24-26 “While Dawiḏ My servant is sovereign over them. And they shall all have one shepherd and walk in My right-rulings and guard My laws, and shall do them. And they shall dwell in the land that I have given to Ya‛aqoḇ My servant, where your fathers dwelt. And they shall dwell in it, they and their children and their children’s children, forever, and My servant Dawiḏ be their prince forever.  And I shall make a covenant of peace with them – an everlasting covenant it is with them. And I shall place them and increase them, and shall place My set-apart place in their midst, forever.”

Ezekiel 34 and 37 both talk about the Ingathering and Yahushua establishing His throne.  Here YHWH is making a covenant of peace with Jacob.  Once again, this covenant is something being established during the Ingathering.  This covenant of peace is for YHWH’s people as He gathers them and establishes Yahushua as King over them.  This is an everlasting covenant not to be diminished.  It sounds like a glorious covenant!

I am going to pause here to summarize some of the points we have gone over.

  • Yahushua is returning as a Righteous King and the Shepherd of His people.
  • The Ingathering occurs before Yahushua’s return. His Bride is gathered together to wait for Him.  Yahushua does not come while all His people are dispersed in the nations.
  • The Ingathering takes place during Jacob’s Troubles.
  • YHWH makes a complete end of all nations, but He does not destroy the House of Jacob.
  • YHWH’s Name has been profaned among the nations.
  • The major purpose for the Ingathering is for mankind to know and confess He is YHWH.
  • YHWH gathers us to set apart His Name.
  • The Ingathering is greater than the first Exodus from Egypt.
  • The world continues about their business as if nothing is going to happen. His people are supposed to watch and be aware of the Day of YHWH.
  • There is not going to be peace on Earth, instead, YHWH comes as a severe storm!
  • YHWH makes a covenant of peace with the house of Israel once He gathers them.

We are living in the “End-of-Days” described in the Bible.  I believe YHWH has a plan of salvation for His children in the End-Days.  YHWH’s children should seek Him regarding this plan.  If they do, they will come to see the deliverance and glory of the Father!

As I continue with this study, I will share many verses that contain promises during the Ingathering.  I will not include the whole context of these verses.  I encourage you to read these verses in context.  YHWH gives His people many promises which are for the time He gathers His people together.  When His people gather together as a whole nation, that is when Scripture teaches these promises will be fulfilled.

Promise 1:  We will understand the Ingathering.

More and more people are becoming aware that YHWH will be gathering His people.  This has not always been understood by many followers of Yahushua.  We are getting closer to the return of Yahushua, the End Times.  We will understand the Ingathering and the promises that go with it in the End Times.  We will not only know this subject in the End Times, but we will understand it PERFECTLY!

Jeremiah 23:20 The displeasure of יהוה shall not turn back until He has done and established the purposes of His heart. In the latter days you shall understand it perfectly.

Jeremiah 30:24 The burning displeasure of יהוה shall not turn back until He has done and established the purposes of His heart. In the latter days you shall understand it.

Today, this promise is in the process of being fulfilled.  We have a lot of understanding.  The Father will give us more.

Promise 2:  None of YHWH’s people are left behind.

The Father tells us that He will not leave one of us behind.

Ezekiel 39:28 ‘And they shall know that I am יהוה their Elohim, who sent them into exile among the gentiles, and then gathered them back to their own land, and left none of them behind.

Amos 9:9 “For look, I am commanding, and I shall sift the house of Yisra’ĕl among all the gentiles, as one sifts with a sieve, yet not a grain falls to the ground.”

I don’t mean to imply that every single believer around the world will be gloriously picked up and brought by YHWH to the Promised Land.  The believers in Yahushua will have to obey His voice.  They will have to choose to leave their homelands where they were living and follow Him during the time of the Ingathering.

John 10:27-29 “My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me.  And I give them everlasting life, and they shall by no means ever perish, and no one shall snatch them out of My hand.  My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all. And no one is able to snatch them out of My Father’s hand.”

Promise 3:  We will not be put to shame during the Ingathering.

We are told in Zephaniah that the nation that is without shame gathers together.  This is a nation that wants to pursue righteousness, right-ruling, and meekness.

Zephaniah 2:1-3  Gather together, gather together, O nation without shame, before the law gives birth – the day shall pass on like chaff – before the burning wrath of יהוה comes upon you, before the day of wrath of יהוה comes upon you!  Seek יהוה, all you meek ones of the earth, who have done His right-ruling. Seek righteousness, seek meekness, if so be that you are hidden in the day of wrath of יהוה.

This is not only a promise but a COMMAND as well!  YHWH proclaims twice that this nation (without shame) needs to gather together.

This is not to contradict the previous statement about none of YHWH’s people being left behind.  The remnant/Bride are those who hear His voice to gather and respond to the Ingathering.  Certain believers who do not respond to this gathering will remain in the nations and these will experience the judgment of the nations in the End Days, hence the wording of Zeph. 2:1-3.  (Other scriptures showing the gathered people being protected and believers remaining in the nations facing destruction are Revelation 12:14-17 and 13:7.)

Some of the promises for the Ingathering have to do with things YHWH will take away from His people.  We are told not to fear the Ingathering.  His people shall not be put to shame.  There is nothing shameful about His people gathering.  That is when YHWH promises to take away our shame.

Isaiah 54:4 “Do not fear, for you shall not be put to shame, nor hurt, you shall not be humiliated. For the shame of your youth you shall forget, and not remember the reproach of your widowhood anymore.”

Promise 4:  YHWH will cleanse us from our idols.

YHWH is going to deal with the idolatry of His people.  The idolatry He will cleanse us of is not necessarily tangible idols, but rather the idols of our hearts.  Whether we are aware or unaware of idols in our hearts, they ultimately cause us to worship someone or something besides YHWH.  The house of Israel needs to be cleansed of this during the time they gather together awaiting YHWH’s return.

Ezekiel 36:24-25 “And I shall take you from among the nations, and I shall gather you out of all lands, and I shall bring you into your own land.  And I shall sprinkle clean water on you, and you shall be clean – from all your filthiness and from all your idols I cleanse you.”

Ezekiel 37:23 “And they shall no longer defile themselves with their idols, nor with their disgusting matters, nor with any of their transgressions. And I shall save them from all their dwelling places in which they have sinned, and I shall cleanse them. And they shall be My people, and I be their Elohim.”

Promise 5:  YHWH will judge us and remove the rebels from among us.

Ezekiel 20:36-38 “As I entered into judgment with your fathers in the wilderness of the land of Mitsrayim, so I shall enter into judgment with you,” declares the Master יהוה. And I shall make you pass under the rod, and shall bring you into the bond of the covenant, and purge the rebels from among you, and those who transgress against Me. From the land where they sojourn I bring them out, but they shall not come into the land of Yisra’ěl. And you shall know that I am יהוה.”

Israel is told that they will enter into judgment during the Ingathering.  Israel passes underneath the rod, then, YHWH brings them into the bond of His covenant.  Furthermore, all the rebels are removed from Israel.  This is big.  There have always been people around us who do not want to submit to YHWH’s authority.  Not only does YHWH deal with our sin, but all the people who do not desire to keep YHWH’s covenant get purged from among Israel.

Promise 6:  YHWH will remove our hearts of stone.

Ezekiel 36:26 “And I shall give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you.  And I shall take the heart of stone out of your flesh, and I shall give you a heart of flesh.”

YHWH will replace our old, stony hearts with a new heart of flesh.  His people will no longer cold towards Him, but diligent with His laws and commandments.  Ultimately, this is the heart we want to strive for.  However, this promise will not be fulfilled until the time we gather together.

Promise 7:  YHWH will put a new spirit (His Spirit) in us.

Ezekiel 36:26-27 “And I shall give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you. And I shall take the heart of stone out of your flesh, and I shall give you a heart of flesh, and put My Spirit within you.  And I shall cause you to walk in My laws and guard My right-rulings and shall do them.”

Ezekiel 39:29 “And no longer do I hide My face from them, for I shall have poured out My Spirit on the house of Yisra’ěl,’ declares the Master יהוה.”

YHWH makes it clear that He will put His Spirit in the people of Israel!  Today, there are manifestations of YHWH’s Spirit coming upon people.  However, most would agree there is no continual pouring out of His Spirit.  Why?  There may not be an easy answer to this question.  Nevertheless, we are promised an outpouring during the Ingathering.  Imagine having the continual fullness of YHWH’s spirit.  Imagine being able to perform miracles the same way Yahushua and His taught ones did.

Wouldn’t it be great to always walk according to the fruits of the spirit?

Galatians 5:22-23 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, trustworthiness, gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no Torah.

Promise 8:  We will be physically and emotionally healed during the Ingathering.

Jeremiah 30:17 ‘For I restore health to you and heal you of your wounds,’ declares יהוה, ‘for they have called you an outcast saying, “This is Tsiyon, no one is seeking her.” ’

Jeremiah 33:6-7 See, I am bringing to it relief and healing. And I shall heal them and reveal to them the riches of peace and truth.  And I shall turn back the captivity of Yehuḏah and the captivity of Yisra’ěl and shall build them as at the first.

Our physical bodies will be restored to health.  Right now, our bodies are naturally experiencing the physical suffering of the world.  So, to have immediate healing will be a miraculous event!

Our emotional wounds will be healed during this time as well.  Jeremiah 30 talks about Zion being an “outcast.”  Rejection and abandonment are emotional wounds.  Many people today suffer from emotional wounds as well as physical wounds.  YHWH is healing it all as His people return!

Promise 9:  We will stay in the Land forever.

Throughout history, the House of Israel and the House of Judah have been kicked out of their land.  They have returned at various times, though they have not stayed forever.  In this sense, there have been several times of return back to the land.  The Ingathering I am referring to is the one where we gather unto YHWH to await Yahushua’s return.  This is the Ingathering where all twelve tribes are represented—not just the tribe of Judah, nor any other individual tribe of Israel, but ALL of them!

This next promise comes from Ezekiel 37, which mentions the House of Judah and the House of Ephraim.  These two houses represent the entire House of Israel (Ezekiel 37:16).

Ezekiel 37:21-22 “And speak to them, ‘Thus said the Master יהוה, “See, I am taking the children of Yisra’ěl from among the nations, wherever they have gone, and shall gather them from all around, and I shall bring them into their land. And I shall make them one nation in the land, on the mountains of Yisra’ěl. And one sovereign shall be sovereign over them all, and let them no longer be two nations, and let them no longer be divided into two reigns.”

Ezekiel 37:25 “And they shall dwell in the land that I have given to Ya‛aqoḇ My servant, where your fathers dwelt. And they shall dwell in it, they and their children and their children’s children, forever, and My servant Dawiḏ be their prince forever.”

When His people gather together, they and their descendants will stay FOREVER!  This is unlike prior events.  Yahushua will be their Prince forever as well.  There is no end time to this promise.

Important Note:  We do NOT teach that YHWH’s people will leave their homelands and go directly to the modern state of Israel, but we do recognize the original land of Israel as a special destination of YHWH’s people as shown in these verses.  This is a very popular belief that people have been taught but it is false!  The restoration of the land of Israel mentioned in scripture will take place during Yahushua’s kingship, and He leads His people into the Land AFTER He gathers them and AFTER He judges the nations, including Jerusalem and the modern state of Israel.  We do not believe the Ingathering occurs in the modern state of Israel!

Promise 10:  The land will become a garden, like Eden.

The final promise I want to point out has to do with the agriculture prospering in the land.

Ezekiel 34:26-27 “And I shall make them and the places all around My hill a blessing, and shall cause showers to come down in their season – showers of blessing they are. And the trees of the field shall yield their fruit and the earth yield her increase, and they shall be safe in their land. And they shall know that I am יהוה when I have broken the bars of their yoke. And I shall deliver them from the hand of those who enslaved them.”

Ezekiel 36:30 “And I shall increase the fruit of your trees and the increase of your fields, so that you need never again bear the reproach of scarcity of food among the nations.”

Ezekiel 36:35 “And they shall say, ‘This land that was laid waste has become like the garden of Ěḏen. And the wasted, the deserted, and the destroyed cities are now walled and inhabited.’”

There is a movement of returning to an agricultural lifestyle among many people around the world.  At the heart of this movement is a desire to be close to the earth and the creatures of the earth, the way YHWH created us to be.  However, the desire to farm around the world will be disrupted by the destruction coming upon the world.  His believers’ future destiny will be farming in the land that YHWH promised.

Now it is good to realize that all of these promises such as a new heart, a major pouring out of YHWH’s spirit, and physical healing are not for every nation.  They are for the House of Jacob/Israel, made up of those who survive the Tribulation and are in covenant with Yahushua and His Kingdom laws.   Another thing important to understand is the timing of these promises.  It is clear from the prophets that they take place when His people have gathered together.

Our Response to YHWH When He Gathers Us:

We know there will be many mighty acts of deliverance during the Ingathering!  How will we respond when we see His awesome works?

Jeremiah 30:19 And out of them shall arise thanksgiving and the voice of those who are laughing.  And I shall increase them, and they shall not diminish.  And I shall esteem them, and they shall not be small.

Jeremiah 33:10b-11 There shall once again be heard the voice of joy and the voice of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom and the voice of the bride, the voice of those who are saying, “Praise יהוה of hosts, for יהוה is good, for His loving-commitment is forever,” of those who are bringing the offering of praise into the House of יהוה. For I shall turn back the captivity of the land, as at the first,’ declares יהוה.

Psalm 47:6-9 Sing praises to Elohim, sing praises! Sing praises to our Sovereign, sing praises!  For Elohim is Sovereign of all the earth; Sing praises with understanding.  Elohim shall reign over the nations; Elohim shall sit on His set-apart throne.  Nobles of peoples shall be gathered together, The people of the Elohim of Aḇraham. For the shields of the earth belong to Elohim; He shall be greatly exalted.

Psalm 107:1-3 Give thanks to יהוה! For He is good, For His loving-commitment is everlasting. Let the redeemed of יהוה say so, whom He has redeemed from the hand of the adversary, and gathered out of the lands, from east and from west, from north and from south.

Our response to YHWH is extreme thanks and praise!  It is important to be thankful to YHWH always.  During the Ingathering, we rejoice in our Master Yahushua and His Kingship.  We will thank YHWH for assembling His people with a mighty Hand.  We will praise YHWH for dealing with our hearts and revealing His great acts at the end of days.  When the Father fulfills all these promises, who would not lift up their voice to praise Him?!
